Review: Works great but manual is written by someone that has limited knowledge of English - This unit works great now! Yes now ! I looked online and found a similar model that is screen swapping also and since I have some experience with electronics I opted to buy this one from desertcart. I knew that I could return it if it didn’t work out for me. You need to watch the videos on youtube about how to install this type of unit. If you aren’t sure about your abilities then maybe you should find a install shop nearby to do this for you. My install went perfectly and I had to again use the videos to help. You will only need one of the cables to interface with your screen and you probably won’t need the joystick extension cable either. I didn’t. After installing it it works okay but I had flickering bleed at the bottom of the screen when using carplay. I contacted the seller and after several emails he sent me a update file set It was zipped up with very little information on how to use the update. I like I said have some knowledge about such things so I unzipped the files and you must use a usb drive that is 16 mb or smaller. Format the usb to fat32 and just copy the three files onto it. Go into the system/upgrade /.bin files with the usb plugged into your usb cable coming from their unit and press update. The unit should do the rest. Rebooting and after it came back up. The flickering at the bottom of the screen is gone. You still have the Lexus screen, press menu button on car joystick for 3-5 seconds and the screen will switch to the new device. You can still use the steering wheel buttons to work the music and sound. Also your joystick is how you move around the new screen as well. Now we have wireless CarPlay handsfree phone and most apps from my iPhone are on the new screen. Just press menu for switching back and forth from Lexus screen to new screen. Hope this helps you to decide if it is right for you?
Review: It was a upgrade then down grade for me - Hdmi inport is for show only .. i had a box like this but it froze up on me after 3 years . So I got this one it was a upgrade from my old box but the hdmi input doesn't do anything.. I use the hdmi input 80% of time in my car and since it dont do anything I'm putting my old one back in and just not using andriod auto .. 3 stars because if ur not using the hdmi it works amazing. This unit works great now! Yes now ! I looked online and found a similar model that is screen swapping also and since I have some experience with electronics I opted to buy this one from Amazon. Hdmi inport is for show only .. i had a box like this but it froze up on me after 3 years . So I got this one it was a upgrade from my old box but the hdmi input doesn't do anything.. I use the hdmi input 80% of time in my car and since it dont do anything I'm putting my old one back in and just not using andriod auto .. 3 stars because if ur not using the hdmi it works amazing. Install this in a 2016 Lexus Nx 200 and works great. Having trouble phone mirroring but the GPS, commands and calls work great.
