The three river design of their logo came from the three rivers in the area that they used for their cargo-vessels when they were a wholesaler in port. The San-J plant was built in Henrico, Virginia. As a family with celiac, it is important that we have gluten-free products, which this teriyaki sauce is. It is made with gluten-free tamari, rather than soy sauce. Many lines make a tamari, but not a teriyaki sauce. San-J has created an absolutely delicious sauce using the gluten-free tamari. The sauce has the perfect balance of salt and sweet. Upon initially opening the bottle, the product is somewhat watery, but quickly cooks down into a thick sauce, which is absolutely perfect for basting chicken or adding to rice and vegetables. The bottle was well packaged, and there was no leaking or breaking.
