If you do that you'll create a big wide "tube" at the base of your lathes and it will be gross. You'll think the mascara is bad. Long, smooth strokes root to tip. Dip, repeat, kinda quickly. Do all the coats you want to do before it dries. Once dry, more coats will clump. This is one of those rare products I will reluctantly pay a higher price to get because it actually does what it says it does and my eyes don't react at all. I can't overstate how impossible that has been for me since I was a teenager. I can forget this mascara is there. It's not just tolerable, it's comfortable.
