I considered a less expensive brand, but decide to go with the Hoya brand. The coating was the top of the scale, and it uses premium glass. I had a filter that was my lens protection, but it was scratched, and I replaced it with this one. I also needed a filter in a different size, and went with this same filter, only in 58mm.
