Is this speaker overkill or can the amps handle it?** A: Hi Willydon, There is so much I could say, but I can't here. I like Yorkville/Traynor amps (having lived in Canada). While I think it would work, I think you could get a more suitable speaker for less that is 4 ohm. Have a look at the Eminence Legend CA154. I think you'll be happier with it both in cost and in performance. The Kappa Pro is really designed more as a PA speaker, The Legend is designed as a bass cab speaker. Good luck! my next choice would be a Celestion Pulse 15, although it is also usually an 8 ohm. 8 Ohm speaker won't hurt your amp, but it just may not be as loud.
