While any sort of weight reduction is a good thing (when still rated for the same load), don't let this weight reduction fool you into thinking the original model is overly heavy. I have the 22' model, and I find it easy to move around. The quad locks are debatably useful, as I have never felt my 2 pin design was unstable or even the least bit wobbly. The redesigned release locks do sound nice however, as the original ones take a little getting used to. **Q: weight** A: The ladder is not light. If you need a top quality, really well built ladder, that is truly at the top its class this is it. If you only need to use a light weight step ladder for the simplest of jobs this is probably not for you. However, if the terms reliability, dependability, confidence, trust, adaptability, and stability mean any thing this ladder is a top choice. When I worked as a carpenter this ladder was an absolute "go to." I never worried when using it and the multiple position options are really handy. It is simple to use and the wheels make the heavier weight a non-issue. When he finished the job and started loading his things into the car, I asked him how he was going to get the ladder back with no roof rack. I was shocked when he fit it right into his back seat! I have since bought one myself, and I've already used it folded for things like dry-walling my 14 foot high ceiling, putting up new downspouts for my rain catchment system, and caulking some exterior windows that I built.Things I like about it include:- Folds up to a small size for transportation and storage- Multiple configurations- Wide base for a more solid foundation- Wide top for better balance against the wall- Sturdy- Not too heavy- locks click into place by themselves, so you don't need four arms to use itThe main downside is that it can be unwieldy to lift up to a vertical position once its extended because when it is so long, the leverage is working against you as you try to lift it up. But if you try to extend it once its already standing up, it can be hard to balance at the same time you are trying to lift it. Having another person could help with this, but I've always managed it on my own.
