Genmaicha Green Tea with Matcha is a Japanese tea made using sencha green tea and roasted rice. We carefully selected the sencha loose leaf green tea and 1st harvest matcha from Kyushu, and carefully blend them well with Japanese roasted rice. It has a good balance of the astringency of green tea and the nutty flavor of the roasted rice. You can enjoy the nutty aroma of roasted rice, the fresh flavor of green tea and also the vivid green color of matcha.

Review: Very Good Taste - Very good tea. It has a nice subtle flavor that reminds me of roasted grain. The brewing instructions state to steep the bag in 200 ml of hot water for 30 seconds. Doing so gives you a pale yellow tea with nice flavor. I have seen online instructions to steep the bag for 60 to 90 seconds. I have not tried that yet since the 30 seconds gives a nice result.

I wasn't sure initially about the match but actually it's not overpowering, and the brown rice flavour really comes through. Lots of tea bags in the packet so it will keep me going for a while, but I will definitely get more when I've used them all up.

Really enjoy this one. The roasted rice flavor comes through nicely without being too grassy, which is exactly what I want from a genmaicha. I'm not really a matcha person so this hits the right spot for a daily green tea that's mellow and easy to drink. Low caffeine is a bonus too. 60 bags is a good amount and the individual bags are convenient. Nothing complicated, just a reliable Japanese tea I keep coming back to.
