In fact I rate the brush a 10+ for this very reason and I have used many brushes in the 30 years I've been washing my own cars, trucks, Sprinter vans and motorcycles. For one, they claim theirs IS softer in the description. Secondly, I have used one of these for five years and I concur.....the incidence of hairline "angel hair" scratches which used to see in my wax job are very very minimal compared to the damage done before I began using this one.. Caveat, if you buy the complete kit with the flow through handle....just know that the pole can snap off if you get careless and toss it down hard, or even carefully drop it off a deck onto the grass and the pole is fixed into the brush so you cannot just remove what normally would be a removable threaded pole from the brush itself. If you break it off, say good bye. I was successful in using super glue but recently I laid the brush down in the grass and the glue job broke off. Better to buy the brush only which advertises a standard screw in 1/2" thread so you can use any threaded pole...which will not be permanently fixed into the brush. And of course this kind of pole will not likely have a hole for water to pass into the brush from an attached hose. **Q: Why is the gray brush more then the yellow?** A: The material IS the same between both colors however...The grey model is 2" wider at 12" total AND is a flow thru design when used with the flow thru pole. The yellow is 10" total and isnt designed with the flow thru option, its just a simple brush head. **Q: Is this OK to was Lanai screens?** A: I believe this would work on screens and the patio.
