The Ruger's American-ish stock only had a forward sling stud as an available attachment point; the Caldwell Pic Rail Adapter Plate promised to add a small Picattiny Rail using that sling stud. The Adapter was mounted no more than twenty-five minutes after desertcart delivered it (and a lot of that time was looking for my T-Handled star wrenches.) The adapter proved to be well designed and very solid. The instructions were clearly written and complete, if I had chosen to use them. As an unexpected benefit, the rail cants 5-10(?) degrees vertically to allow it to parallel the bore axis. The Cadwell Pic Rail Adapter is eminently practical way to attach a light (or bipod) to the forward sling stud. It works well and looks professional, and the ability to cant the rail is a real benefit when using a light. All in all, it's an excellent solution to an annoying problem, and a very good value for the money. My only (very small) concern is that at 2.4 ozs, it's a little chonky. Would I buy again? Hells, yes; I'm already looking at buying another one. The center piece slides over the stud and a pin goes through the hole in the stud, then the outside pieces goes over that, and has 2 Allen head screws that tighten up and apply pressure to the pin to hold it tight. I have 4 of these on different rifles and they are great. never have had a problem with them. **Q: Anyone try this on a ruger 10/22 Sporter stock? Is the fit ok?** A: Only on a Hogue stocked 10/22 and it fit fine. **Q: Will this fit a ruger 10/22 target lite? the underside of the forend is flat** A: I’ve got a couple of these.
