I bought it specifically to slice my homemade basturma. I can say right off the bat that I am pleased with the results. I mainly use the thin-slicing setting, and it cuts superbly. I haven't quite mastered slicing bread with it yet, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. The main thing is just learning how to use it properly. It is easy to clean and comes apart for disassembly perfectly. The blades are sharp—I do not recommend testing them with your fingers!

**Q: clean-up?**
A: Cleaning the slicer is simple.  Make sure it is off with the blade closed and use a flat head screwdriver and turn the holding knob in the middle of the bade to open it and then wipe off the blade.  Do not wipe off the lubricating grease from the back of it. Reassemble the blade and wipe down the rest of the unit and then set it back.  Takes maybe two minutes tops even with juicy meats or sticky cheeses.

**Q: Can it cut through bones like pig ribs or pork chops?**
A: as a chef i can tell you NEVER try to cut bone with a deli slicer, DANGEROUS and will dill the blade with just one use! You need a heavy duty meat saw(similar to a bandsaw, for carpenters), dont use this machine for this purpose , william olsen- willyobiker@yahoo.com

**Q: will this cut hard raw vegetables such as beets, carrots, etc.???**
A: I used it to cut beets.  Also good to make homemade potato chips.

**Q: How good is this for frozen meat? Roasts, tongue, sausages, etc.**
A: I've sliced up venison roasts and whole muscle venison frozen with no problems. I've had mine for a yr and had no issues..

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use Vegetable/Canola Oil for Lubrication

Love the deli slicer! Especially for this price! Just I noticed 2 things that i had issues with while using it, 1 is the slider, it worked smoothly for a bit until it started to get stuck on some parts during cutting of the deli foods (high friction on it) until I lubricated it with vegetable oil on the slider and it now slides super smoothly. The 2nd thing is the knob would get stuck on being 2mm higher than normal so at 3mm its cutting at 1mm and 4mm on the knob is 2mm thick and so on, I see some reviews talking about it as well but most likely itll need lubrication as well (use vegetable oil or canola oil since those are food safe lubricants for mechanical parts, i dont recommend wd40)
