I did not do the work on my car yet for which I purchases this tool. Here is what I think. Since this is air powered, if you use this in a wet environment you will not get an electrical shock. But if you plan on using this tool under water such as when scuba diving. I don't have the answer to that question. I do know that all air powered tools do not like to have water in the air supply. The internals will corrode. Your air supply is wet unless you have some sort of system or filter to get rid of the water. This is because there is humidity in the air, when air is compressed the water comes out of the air and you get a puddle in the bottom of your compressor tank. Somer of this water will get into the air hose. So my guess is that if you use this tool under water under it may not have a long life span. As far as the abrasive disc cutting metal under water, I don't know.
