That is, no dice rolls; your success comes down to skill at alliance-building and military strategy?** A: Although I am not familiar with Diplomacy, I am familiar with A Game of Thrones. Much of the game does come down to alliance-building and troop positioning strategy. An element of randomness is introduced through the Westeros cards. These cards are drawn at the beginning of each turn before any orders are assigned. They affect all players equally at the beginning of any given turn. For example, some cards might have players adjust their supply tracks or muster additional troops. These cards affect all players equally, although there impacts on individuals' strategies could vary. Following the cards, a player can adjust his or her game strategy before assigning orders.Randomness is a component, but players are given time to react to it. And once orders are assigned, they are played out through an intricate system which rewards in depth strategy. **Q: What is the difference between the deluxe second edition and the regular Second edition?** A: I think you should be careful because it seems there's no such thing as a "deluxe edidion". I checked the webpage for Fantasy Flight Games and they make no mention of such a thing. Also the box art displayed here says nothing about it being a "deluxe" edition.
