Will this work on private/sensitive areas?** A: Do not do it with this product!- the larger bottle with applicator nozzle. It can easily cause a chemical burn within 10 minutes (stated maximum application time), which results in terrible pain to the area for at least a day. This is from experience. The women's Nair Lotion (Aloe & Lanolin) also had the same burning effect. The old? or non-applicator 8 oz. Nair Men product squeeze bottle is apparently a different product- weaker but still effective. It says "NEW Formula!" on the front, and states that the maximum application time is 15 minutes on that one. It also lists some different ingredients. Use that one on sensitive areas if you must. **Q: can i just apply it to hair without shaving** A: It's designed to be used on dry skin without shaving. What it does to the hair is withers it down to the skin-line. when you wipe it away, you may have some stragglers that just don't seem to be weak enough to break at the skin-line. I tried this stuff for a while, but it was more hassle than just shaving, and it doesn't really have a long-lasting effect from my own experience having followed the directions. Just so you know, you will also experience a kind of burning sensation on your skin as the hair withers. The only other things I've been looking at for long-lasting effects are laser which is long-lasting, though not permanent, and electrolysis, which is expensive, but permanently removes the hair and follicle killing the root where the hair grows so no hair can grow there again. So the question comes down to how much are you willing to shell out in the long-term versus save up for a short-term and then not have to mess with it again. It all depends on your tastes. After a few applications a week apart there is no chemical burn and the product works much better.
