**Q: In using the flip flow valve, is there any suggestion for how to prevent the short burst of pain in the bladder area at the very end of emptying?**
A: I have the same issue and my urologist claims it's the natural closing off of the urine stream that pinches the catheter against the bladder wall. He said it's the same body reaction you had when you used to urinate normally and your body would just naturally close off the stream at the end of urinating but since you did not have the catheter in you, you did not get the "pinch". I have had the Subprapubic for about 4 years and I do notice that after a cath change, sometimes the "pinch" is worse than others. No idea why, but that is my experience. I absolutely hate it but you have to learn to live with it !!

**Q: Does this fit different catheter diameters?**
A: Yes

**Q: Can you use the valve without the rubber tube on the end to make it smaller**
A: Well, you'd need something to connect the valve to whatever you're using it on. The rubber tube keeps whatever liquid from leaking. I'm looking at one of the ones I have now and can't imagine how else you'd do that unless you have a waterproof tape or maybe some adhesive puddy. It might help if I knew what you were going to use it for.

**Q: My concern is the silicone tubing is open & touches the skin. could that make it more susceptible 4 bacteria &uti?  i've been putting a cap over mine.**
A: Your cap is a good idea.  All open ends can be source for infection.  Alcohol wipes are good to use and keep handy- even before capping.

Months into this full time catheter journey with my husband, could not live without these Ugo cath valves. He gets his medical from the VA but so far they have not even heard of these. I think they are looking into it though. They have operated perfectly, no leaks, easy for someone with Parkinson’s to handle themselves. It easily connects to the over night bag/bottle to let us sleep! Best of all, he hasn’t experienced one UTI since using this product. Appears to promote bladder health by allowing intermittent drainage during the day. Always delivered quickly from Amazon. A little pricey but some things in life ( quality of life) one can’t compromise. Other reviewers have commented on other brands, some negatively, but we have no intention of experimenting with any other type or brand.
