I have many photography books but this one is my favourite for a beginner photographer. Each lesson is short - no more than 2 pages devoted to each lesson. It's to the point, easy to understand and beautifully illustrated with his photographs. He doesn't over analyze, and the reader isn't bogged down in theories and technical jargon. There are the usual lessons on aperture, ISO, shutter speed etc but it is presented very simply. Lots of great tips throughout the book for the experiential learner. The only downside to this book, is that it isn't digital. Tells you all about the basics of photography. I'm half way through reading this book and it's so easy to understand. It has pictures so gives you a better understanding of what they are describing. I've learnt quite a bit just from playing with the camera and reading this book.
