Review: Excellent bang for the buck! - While I was admittedly a tiny bit apprehensive to try these out vs. one of the “big brands,” the review video (on the product page) from the Canadian guy convinced me to give them a shot. So far, no regrets! They were pretty easy to install. My helmet doesn’t have dedicated speaker pockets (Icon Airmada) so it was a little tricky to find just the right spot for them so they don’t bother my ears, but this would have been the case with any Bluetooth communicator. My wife’s helmet, an Icon Airform, does have speaker pockets and they fit perfectly. Pairing them was pretty easy, though it did take us a few tries to get just the right timing on the button press to place them in pairing mode. Sound quality for music listening isn’t the absolute best, as many other reviewers have stated they are lacking in bass response. This is fine with me, because listening to music and riding motorcycles don’t go together, in my opinion- there are more important things that I should be listening for. Voice, however, comes through crystal clear, with excellent noise cancellation- no wind noise, no bike noise- I can’t ask for much more than that! We used these for the first time pretty much non-stop on a four hour ride. It was nice to have the ability to talk back and forth, my wife is a new rider and we both enjoyed being able to talk about what was coming up on the road ahead, when she needed a break, etcetera. We had plenty of battery, and the range is excellent. There were times when I could barely see her in my mirrors or a car would get between us or whatever and we never once lost signal. If you’re considering these, I must say that I had super good luck with the set I ordered. Everything was in good shape and worked perfectly. I have never tried any other brands or models, but the price on these was too good to pass up, especially for all the features they have. Well worth it, though I will be looking for a helmet with speaker pockets because it’s just a little snug without, but that has nothing to do with the product, just the helmet I have.
Review: 2 different helmets 2 different experiences - Update: since my review I’ve been very pleased with the customer service I’ve received. ————- Based in sound, speed and helmet type because we both have 2 completely different experiences with it. My helmet is Z1R Mid- the padding doesn’t push right against my ears which we think is why it makes a difference. It sounds great if you’re not driving, super loud and I can hear my husband clear. Pass 55mph the music sounds like as if you’re listening to the live version of whatever song you’re playing Pass 65mph you can hear the music, can’t really make out the words unless you know the lyrics. Ad once you hit 70-75mph the sound of the wind itself over powers the sound of everything, you know there’s music playing but the sound of the wind takes over. As far as the speaker goes, Once you pass 65 mph it’s really really hard to hear someone talk. The wind is too loud to make out the words. The pair sharing mic does work but you have to wait about 10-15 secs after pressing it to start talking. Sometimes after you ended the mic sharing option the music you had playing does not play again automatically which it should. And pressing play doesn’t make it play either. I’ve had to pull my phone out and hit play from there. Which defeats the purpose of Bluetooth in my opinion. Over all, my AirPods have better quality as far as sound goes. I think it’s because it cancels out some of the wind noice since it’s directly in your ear. The only plus side about these is that you can communicate with the other person, easier. Since sometimes Siri can’t hear me after 50mph The set up was super easy, you can adjust the placement of the speakers inside as many times as needed (my helmet does not have ear cutouts so the placement of the ears isn’t as specific as it is on my husband helmet making it harder to place them in the right spot but after a few tries we got it in the right place, this makes a significant difference in sound) , pairing both together was easy as well as pairing it to the phone. Came with 2 different sets of speakers. I assume one is for 1/2 helmets and the other for full face. Now that was for my helmet - (Z1R) For my husbands helmet - BELL mid his sounds much better and he can hear me clear as day. Even at 80mph and up no issues with his other than the music not playing automatically after the mic sharing. His helmet does press on his ears and is more noice cancelling than mines is. Which we think it’s why his had no issues with sound. His helmet had ear cutouts so it shows exactly where the ears go in the helmet making it easier to place the speakers in the right spot his helmet. The mic does sound a bit loud, but then again you’re on a bike right! We placed the actual Bluetooth device on the right for one helmet and on the left side for the other one. So it is modifiable from side to side depending on which is more comfortable. The buttons are relative hard to press with gloves on, but it gets easier to find the right button after a while. Make sure to not dubble press the volume up button and hold it instead Bcus it will call whomever you last called. Over all for me the experience is a 3.5/5 For my husband it’s a 5/5 Considering price and all, Giving it a 4/5 I would buy these again, and I do suggest them. Noting that your helmet type does play a big factor.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is the sound quality for music/voice?**
A: The sound is clear and loud. Make sure you really push the speaker plug all the way in. When I first set mine up, the sound quality was awful and the volume was low. I thought the unit was defective. Although the speaker connector looked like it was plugged all the way in, it wasn't. I tried the more expensive Cardo PackTalk before going with the Lexin. The sound quality of the Lexin is much better IMO.

**Q: When listening to music, how do you switch to communication? will music continue at lower volume? need to switch com off to listen to music again?**
A: The person calling interrupts the radio to the recieving person. Or if you are the caller, your music stops and it stops the recievers music. To restart the music, turn the intercom off. It will not continue at a lower volume. If you want to call, hit front intercom button.

**Q: Can I listen to one FM radio station and my passenger listen to a different station??**
A: Yes indeed.
FM, no static at all.

**Q: Will this be decent for snowmobiling and work in wet and cold environments in snowmobiling?**
A: Yes.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A decent unit with drawbacks.
*by V***Y on March 25, 2022*

I'm sure everyones experience with these comms are different based on your specific helmet. This is my personal experience with the Arai DT-X. The installation is pretty straightforward once you understand what you're doing. I ordered the dual set. One for me and one for my wife. Pairing the 2 units together was a bit of a pain and there's definitely a learning curve to it. At least for me there was. Once the units are paired they connect for comms pretty easily. The sound quality for the comms is on par for the price of these. You really can't go wrong with it at $175 for the pair. I could hear my wife really well up to about 60mpg with my R3 cruising at 9k RPM. Above 60 mph and at higher RPM it became more difficult to hear her. And this is with half of the speaker completely and directly at my ear. (The other half of the speaker had to be placed under the padding due to the construction of my specific helmet). Switching between music and comms while riding with another rider is really confusing. After 2 days owning these units I have yet to figure it out. Even with reading the instructions multiple times. When riding solo and just listening to music without comms the sound is not near as good. You can hear the music pretty good up to around 40mph but past that you can't hear the music very well at all. And that's with all volumes at max level. All in all they are good units based on the price you're paying. My only 2 complaints are that I wish it was easier to switch between comms and music and that the speakers were louder.
