I was able to push it into the grooves in the door frame by hand and it was tight and secure. Still too soon to gauge it's insulation or long term durability, but it seems every bit as sturdy as the stripping that came with the door and frame. It also has a foam core like the original.I had recently re-weather stripped my front door with stripping purchased from a big box building supply store. That weather stripping had the same stiff insert to go into the groove as the original and took extensive work with flat-tip screw driver and hammer to install, but came with out the foam core that this stripping has, so not only does it not insulate as well but light comes in around the entire door. It also cost 3d times for one door what this cost for two doors.
