When opening the boxes, the difference in quality between the two was striking. The Oxhart Flame is much heavier and solid. The metal finish and glass front were far more attractive. The exhaust grill across the top looks sleek and high-end. I had actually opened the box for the other brand first and I wasn't initially that dissatisfied until I opened the Oxhart Flame and realized just how much better it was. Other features: Remote is responsive and works well for adjusting flame effects and temperature. The flame of course doesn't fully replicate a real fire but is beautiful with numerous adjustments. It has a continuous nice-appearing log (other brand had 6 pieces that you had to assemble) as well as attractive crystals. While I haven't yet run the heater for an extended periord of time, it puts out a warm heat and allows you to set the temperature for the room. The only downside I have is that it beeps when making adjustments, although I haven't dug into the manual to know whether this can be silenced or not. I also haven't tried the WiFii control features yet. It does require a 6" wall cavity so a standard 2x4 wall will not work - will need 2x6.
