It is not a skin-tight fit, but I prefer it this way because it gives much more flexibility. Truthfully, every part of the shoe remained intact, except for a split in the heel/ankle, and it was pretty scuff-resistant. Any spills were easily cleaned off with a clorox wipe, and I didn't notice any discoloration. These are my favorite shoes of all time. I have recommended them to every person who has complimented me on them. These shoes will go a LONG way for you, whether that's extensive clubbing like a 20-something or elevating any everyday and/or date night look.
