    Quite good value for the price; I think!

Bought by Brenda's husband who wrote this review.The speed that this order was processed and arrived was really impressive. Not a de luxe set by any stretch of the imagination. That assumes it is possible to buy such a thing these days without incuring financial ruin? However, for a boxwood,long draughts set of medium quality, it probably represents quite good value at today's prices. The workmanship is a little shoddy in places though this varied with each piece and probably depended on the force that the cutter had been applied? Some bore the marks of the lathe chuck on their sides and some didn't. At least they had been turned on a lathe rather than just stamped out. The pattern is also on both sides. Despite slight imperfections, where do you go if you want a set of forty for playing more exotic games like Polish draughts? They are pitched about right for today's prices and do look very nice as a group on a 10 X 10 board. I made my board myself out of contrasting wood veneer and was pleased with the result. If you require a long set of draughts, buy without qualms but don't look too closely at an individual piece under a magnifying glass!
