There are no fumes and only a light fragrance, not unpleasant at all. Your hair feels amazing afterward. **Q: How long does the opened dphue Root Touch-Up Kit last (for the second application)?** A: As long as you need it to. The dye is not activated until it is mixed with the base so they can stay in there individual tubes for a long time. **Q: How does this product work? Is it a powder, wax, dye, and does it need to be applied after shampooing, and does it cover solid gray roots well?** A: It’s a tube and a pouch of ‘cream’ like substances you mix in a bowl. Comes with an applicator brush. Covered mine solid. I’d say higher quality than the normal off the shelf boxed products. **Q: How often can you safely repeat use of this application ?** A: I love this hair color. It is easy to use and does give a beautiful color. It was recommended by my professional hair dresser in nyc.
