First off - it doesn't so much *color* your hair as even the color out and make it more uniform. It doesn't leave you with an almost 'fake' look by making the color *too* even - there are still some variations that look perfectly natural to my eyes. It covers grey far better than I expected, making those areas less noticeable. Then there is the smell - anyone who has even been at ground zero for your run-of-the-mill hair color knows that hair colorants smell terrible, and the smell lingers on the hair for days. This product actually has a pleasant smell, more reminiscent of a quality hair conditioner than a colorant. It's amazing to me how little smell there is to this product. Speaking of conditioner - this product also conditions your hair, making it far more soft and manageable than it would otherwise be, particularly given that most colorants dry out and damage your hair with every use. Sure - it washes out over the course of several shampooings. The end result is amazing, and in reality it lasts far longer in your hair than it claims.
