I purchased the 16 GB size to back up all of my important videos and pictures. I'm not very tech savvy, so thankfully it was not hard to figure out. After you plug it in, it'll just be right there with the rest of your devices and drives (under "Computer"). And then you may proceed to transfer any of your files. I do like the design and the little cover that swings easily and protects the USB from getting dirty. Nowadays though, they make flash drives and USB devices that are much smaller and don't jut out as much, so that's another thing to consider when buying a USB flash drive.I'd be willing to purchase this flash drive again if I need to. Although I had a lot of videos and large files, it was shocking to see how quickly 16 GB can fill up. I actually would have gotten a much larger drive, but at the time, these were pretty pricey. Lately I've noticed that the price has gone down significantly, like about half of what it used to be. For the price now, it's a super deal. ### ⭐⭐ Not For Keyrings and Squeaks *by S***H on Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2013* I generally like Kingston and own many components made by them. They all perform well, including this flash drive. Definitely top of the line and exceeds the listed read/write speeds. I'll leave the numbers to other people here who have more time to do extensive testing.I bought this while searching for a 16GB flash drive specifically to put on my keyring, so when I saw that this DataTraveler 101 actually put in the product description that it has a loop for keyrings, I purchased it even though I couldn't see much in any of the images.When I opened it up, the first thing I tried to do was put it on my keyring, but the hole is RIDICULOUSLY small. It's more like a sewing pinhole than a hole used for keyrings. In my life, I've never seen a keyring that would be usable by this flash drive. So I immediately returned it and bought a second DataTraveler SE9, which works great on my keyring. This particular model should have that removed from the product description.While that was a pretty big deal for me, the other thing I noticed was that the metal squeaked when you flipped the cover around to use it and back to cover it up again. It squeaked not in a way that I think would 'wear' in and become unnoticeable. It got extremely annoying just from the 5 minutes I played with it.I would not recommend this to anyone period. Kingston is great, go grab the DataTraverler SE9 instead. I read the reviews kindly left about this drive by other people, for which many thanks! I noticed the advice about uninstalling UR Drive and /or deleting superfluous software.I am somewhat nervous of mechanical devices, but it was recognized instantly and became "Ur Drive F". I opened it and wondered what possible harm can happen if I right-click on it. I got "format" among other options. Left-clicking that, I got a stern message that should I proceed I would be deleting a lot of software."Really?!" said I, rather pleasantly surprised, and proceeded. Now it appears as KINGSTON DRIVE F, performs immaculately, and when I click "eject" it becomes "a removable disk". Perfect!If I may be allowed to contribute a slightly frivolous point with a serious intent: like many other contributors before me, I noticed how very TINY this USB Drive is - on my desk it could and would easily disappear without trace caught in some papers, as to what will become of it mixed with a bunch of keys at the bottom of my handbag, I dread to think.Staring at it with my Art @ Design hat on, I saw that it looks just like a stylish piece of modern jewellry, i.e. a pendant. So I got one of those black silk cords people use for handmade pendants these days, removed one end of the simple clasp, threaded the black silk cord through the little ear (you have to encourage it a bit, but if I can do it, you can do it), replaced the clasp end and TA-DA! Firstly, with that cord on, there is no way it gets lost on my desk. Secondly, it looks very Matrix with a black T-shirt or polo neck.
