They are durable & give a nice, candlelight glow. They even flicker a bit! You do have to buy & install batteries for them, which takes a fair bit of time. We also had to buy fishing line & small hooks to hang them with. Overall we are very pleased.The only thing I feel I should point out is the remote has to point directly towards them to work. We have them along one wall (pictured), & in another corner. If you press & hold the ‘on’ button while swiping your hand across the room they all turn on as they are pointed at. Takes a second, so no big deal. It’s the same for turning them off. I took a chance on these to light our windows for Christmas and given the price, I told my husband if they make it to Christmas and I end up having to throw them away afterward, we'll have gotten our money's worth. It's now January 1st and I've got 20 of them scattered throughout our home. Not a single one has even begun to dim.For the windows, they fit perfectly and safely between the screen and window and they look amazing! I didn't even have to buy or use candle holders or suction cups bc the bottom rubbery pieces can be adjusted to make them perfectly level. Fun fact - I accidentally dropped one out of our second story bathroom window when I first put them out. It landed with a thud on our a/c unit. When I retrieved it, the top was bent, the light was off and I thought it was most definitely a goner... the very same candle is currently in my bathroom window as I write this and it's shining every bit as brightly as all the others.I honestly couldn't recommend these any more strongly. Buy them, be glad you did, and enjoy thinking of all the places you can use them throughout the year.
