I bought the larger option & the hole for your ear is not directly in the middle, it’s a little offset so you can put your heard down like you would with a normal pillow & your ear with sit in the opening & your head doesn’t constantly feel like it’s going to roll off like with the smaller piercing pillows. I have already recommended this to two people with new cartilage piercings. I was pierced 1 1/2 months ago and I have no pain. I clean with saline twice a day & use this pillow religiously. The cost is a drop in a bucket compared to your sleep not being interrupted due to pain. I got the larger size & it does actually feel really cool to touch. I use a satin pillow case over it so I can wash that every week instead of actually having my face directly against the pillow & I still have room with the pillow case pushed down in the opening. Unlike the donuts, this is a legit pillow. The issue I ran into was the hole still felt a bit too big, so my head just didn’t quite get the support it needed to sleep well. BUT i am a horrible sleeper, so maybe it’s a very ME issue. And thing is, if you look at it it doesn’t seem like it is too big, so I think they’re in a tricky spot with the sizing.
