Review: In meiner Messersammlung hat noch ein hochwertiger EDC-Folder gefehlt. Ich habe mich für das 112 Ranger entschieden, weil es gerade für ein EDC nicht ganz so einschüchternd wirkt, wie das klassische 110 Folding Hunter. Das Messer ist extrem hochwertig verarbeitet, die massiven Messing-Griffschalen mit den Ebenholz-Einlagen sind wahre Handschmeichler und einfach zeitlos schön. Viele bemängeln oft das Gewicht dieser Messer; ich finde das aber sehr angenehm, man hat richtig was in der Hand. Die Klinge ist sauber ausgeschliffen und sehr scharf (hab mich gleich mal ordentlich damit geschnitten). Wenn man in die Tasche greift, legt es sich einem in die Hand wie ein guter, alter Freund. Ich habe, wie man auf den Fotos sieht, eher große Hände, das Messer liegt mir aber trotzdem perfekt in der Hand. Der Preis ist mit 80 - 90€ im Vergleich zu früher schon stattlich, allerdings sollte einen dieses Messer ein Leben lang begleiten und noch dazu bekommt man ein perfekt verarbeitetes Echt-Leder Etui zu jedem Buck. Laut Date Code auf der Klinge wurde mein Exemplar in 2023 gefertigt und nun war nach einem Jahr die Schmiere für die Klingen-Action aus der Fabrik schon etwas bröselig. Einfach mit ein bisschen WD-40 ausgewaschen, dann hat das auch wieder gepasst. Jedem, der noch Zweifel am Kauf hat, möchte ich empfehlen, sich ein paar Interviews mit CJ Buck, dem derzeitigen CEO von Buck Knives anzuschauen. Wenn man sieht, wie viel Herzblut und Passion in diesem Produkt steckt, versteht man auch den Dauer-Hype um Buck Messer. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

**Q: Can someone who has ordered this knife recently verify the country of manufacture? Thank you!**
A: Buck Knifes are great products but not all Buck Knifes are made in the USA. I have a 40 year old 112 Ranger that was made in America and these are as well. But the folks that have saying "all Buck Knifes are made in the USA" are sadly wrong.

**Q: where is it made**
A: The Ranger Buck #112 knife is made in the good ole USA and it will be printed on the blade. The 112 is the same pattern and workmanship as the 110 but in a smaller version. the 110 is the original "folding hunter" by Buck. Although I like the #110, the #112 is also nice and is better for my wife's hands plus its more convenient because it fits into pockets much better.

**Q: what is the closed length ???**
A: The Buck 112 is 4 1/4" long closed. I also have a Buck 503 that is 3 7/16" long closed.

**Q: how much smaller is the 112 than the 110 when opened?**
A: The 112 has a 3" blade and the 110 has a 3 3/4" blade.I think the 112 feels stronger and has a better all around feel to it. This knife opens and closes smoothly with no play. I own knives that cost three times as much that aren't as good as the 112. I don't understand why they don't cost more.Hope this helps

I like this folder a lot! It's the little brother to the Buck 110, itself a proven legend and an iconic piece of American history. The fit and finish of the blade, handle and body are superb. It opens easily enough, with just a bit of resistance - which is something I like. The blade locks solidly into place and is razor sharp. It takes the hair from my arm with absolutely no effort. The lines, angles, and grinds are all as nice as one could hope for. The knife feels rock-solid in every respect. The accompanying leather sheath is made in Mexico, but it's solid and nicely crafted. It should last along time. From a functional perspective, this knife is ideal for EDC. A smaller knife will do everything that a larger knife can, it just might take a tad longer. I love everything about this knife. It feels good in the hand, it's got a lot of quality, is razor sharp, and is made in the USA. What's not to love? Buck's lifetime warranty adds a crowning touch to this superb folder. I determine value to be the sum of an item's quality, practicality and price. Using this formula, I can say that the Buck 112 is awesome in every respect. I am totally pleased with this purchase and would gladly do so again. I recently needed to contact their customer service department, and the result was amazing. They have the best customer service that I have ever seen! Stay safe, and God bless!
