The instructions say not to stand with just one foot on it, for some reason. Standing on it with both feet (necessarily close together) doesn't feel steady to me, no more than standing on flat concrete with both feet very close together would. I normally stand with my feet separated by my shoulder width. I solved that problem by getting a second one, after trying the first. Now I can put one foot on each, spaced so my feet are in their usual (separated) stance. Much better! Feels much steadier that way, to me at least.
