Rehab/Exercise in a Brief Case! - I am a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation resident physician and I am always looking for creative ways to make rehab accessible and help functionality as much as possible. My mom had open heart surgery recently and needed some home physical therapy while she recovered at home. I was told about the Movao Leg Press from a physical therapist I work with and in my experience (medical and personal), this has been so instrumental in my mom's rehab! The Movao Leg Press is light, but sturdy. Such super high quality! When I opened the case, I was so surprised by the quality and the detail that the designers put into this to make it so super functional for the user. You can use this sitting, laying down, standing up. It is safe to use and has added clips/supportive straps that you can attach to the press to make it even more secured! It does take some getting used to initially, but the instructional booklet is so easy to read, has pictures that make setting up and exercising simple. This is an all-in-one answer for lower limb rehab. You can change resistance levels and the incline which makes it multifunctional, and help you start slow and build up your endurance and strength. It is so convenient to use. Small enough where you can move it around, store it under the bed, and it is not heavy at all. This would be great for people trying to work on sit-to-stand mechanics, wanting light-to-moderate workout, improve endurance and strength. This could be beneficial for people who have already finished physical therapy after hip or knee surgeries, ankle or muscular strains (make sure to clear with your PT first). But paying $85 co-pays 3x a week for the next 12 weeks was just not in the budget. The physical therapist recommended this MOVAO system as an alternative. It’s extremely compact and lightweight but sturdy, comes in a handy carrying case, and the instructions were very easy to understand. I started out using it just for strengthening my legs and it was not only comfortable, but very quiet so I could watch TV, read, or listen to music while using it. I can control the amount of resistance quickly and easily too. I know it says leg press, but after seeing how well it worked for my legs, I tried it for my arms and it worked amazingly for those too. This is truly a great product and absolutely worth every penny! It has not only saved me money in co-pays, but it is so much more convenient to use when it fits into my daily schedule instead of making an appt at the physical therapy office.
