The tradeoff is that it does not change color, so you will want to monitor humidity levels with a hygrometer rather than relying on visual indication. I use this in 3D printed spool desiccant containers and in my AMS desiccant holders, and it has worked extremely well. Humidity stays low and filament performance has been consistent. To recharge, I dry it in my AMS HT using a high temperature safe container at full temperature for a couple of hours, and it is ready to go again. I use just a few cubic inches in each of my 4 liter dryboxes, and they keep the humidity down very well. The first picture is what I generally see.
