Review: A good tamper - I had this same tamper for my Breville Barista Express, so when I upgraded it seemed like no-brainer to get one for 58mm. In short, it's a great tamper. It's designed so that people, like me, can tamp properly. It works incredibly well because it's self leveling, and calibrated. So you kinda have to go out of your way to get an uneven tamp with inconsistent pressure. Which, again, for people like me is a blessing. The one criticism I have is that grinds do have a tendency to get stuck on the side of the tamping plate... which can make the calibrated handle feel a little hung up. Simply clean off the grinds on the side and it's good to go.
