In comparison to memory foam, these pillows don't sink and become compressed over time as you rest your head on them. They are very supportive and responsive. As soon as you lift your head, the pillow springs right back up. It feels and behaves kind of like what you would expect whale blubber to feel like lol. I ordered the firm but it isn't so firm that it is uncomfortable. I also ordered the king because it is approximately 6.5 inches high as opposed to 6. For side sleepers with broader shoulders, pillow/loft height is one of the most important factors for keeping your neck aligned. It is difficult to measure myself, but I estimate from the center of my neck to the edge of my shoulder is roughly 7-9.5 inches. I am laying on my side as I write this review and it fills in that gap and supports my neck perfectly. If you are suffering from neck and shoulder pain, you should really give this pillow a try. Packaged and delivered as expected. The stitching and overall quality are great and as expected. There is a very mild odor to it but it does not smell bad or like harsh chemicals. It has a "new" scent to it that I can only smell if I put my nose against it directly. I imagine any new pillow would have a similar smell. And this one is Dunlop (not Talalay). I ordered the Firm, and it really feels like a Medium- it was a little softer than expected. But it was still very buoyant, and it has that light, bouncy feel that I like. I highly recommend this latex pillow in the Firm ( medium or soft might be too soft). I have had severe cervical spine pain with headaches for 25+ years. Tried every kind of pillow there is. From Down to Memory Foam.
