However, the Cambro is heavy enough when it’s empty, when it’s full it’s impossible to manage without having food all over the place. Unfortunately, I had a little mess on my hands (and kitchen floor) when I recently cooked quite a bit of food for a friend’s Halloween party. When I loaded up the Cambro and tried to move it, all of the trays fell out of their respective grooves and landed on top of each other. I wound up having to remove all the trays of food (I had made 4 full trays of hot food) from the Cambro, clean up the mess and place the empty Cambro in my SUV and then bring the food trays out to my vehicle and then place trays in Cambro. Then I drove to the party very carefully (a half hour drive) avoiding pot holes and any quick turns or maneuvers. When I got to the party one of the trays had fallen out of the grooves and landed in the one beneath it, leaving a little mess, but nothing disastrous. Not sure what to do to avoid this happening in the future. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. If you use the aluminum full or half 2.5 inch tray to serve or get from a deli, just buy the stainless steel full or half trays and sit the aluminum pans in them and then slide them. They will fit perfectly. If you entertain and want your food safe as well as tasting it's best, you can't do better than this unless you are using a true hot box, but this is SO much more convenient.
