Its sizing is adequate. The mesh part that covers the gel is tougher than the picture shows. The gel really pulls in the heat away from my head/neck and recovers its coolness quickly when taken off. The string closure is not fixed, you can open it and leave it opened. That point was very important and I had planned to make modifications that were not necessary! I use this every day to sleep (neck injury) and it adds a huge amount of support/comfort/pain relief. Review: Comfortable and cool - This travel pillow is versatile and comfortable. The memory foam style provides reasonably good support. Firmness is about 8/10--with "10" being rock hard and "1" being flat. The memory foam type pillows offer good firm support, but can be a bit hot. So, the pillow has a "cool" gel side that has a cooling effect that lasts about 20 minutes. It won't stay cool forever, but that's to be expected. The cooling effect will return after about 30 minutes. The cooling is very similar to a cooling "pet mat" that I got for my dogs. After while, you have to let the pillow cool down. You can also turn the pillow over to the velour side for a "non-cooling" experience in colder weather.
