This Ottoman is very sturdy. I sit on it all the time while playing with my cat, and while I wouldn't stand on it as a 220lb male, I think it's very sturdy otherwise. (And it's not really for standing on anyway)There's a ton of storage space inside, and it has been a huge help in that respect. It also doesn't feel or look cheap. However the little "studs" along the bottom do come out pretty easily, they're basically just push in nails. Make sure no small children or pets can get to them. I just put some scratch proof tape over them to keep my cat from pulling them out.Otherwise, it's very well built.
