Review: Game Changer - It is not often I leave reviews unless the product is outstanding in all aspects. So I am writing this review. The Lockly Visage met all those criteria. I did research for two days to find a smart lock. I did searches, I read reviews, and went through most of the locks on desertcart (there are a lot to say the least). From inexpensive to expensive ones. I narrowed my search down to three contenders. All highly recommended locks. What gave Lockly the nod was the face recognition and home kit compatibility. Many times my wife and I have come home with our arms full and searching for keys in your pocket is an adventure. It's like having an arm full of groceries and swiping your foot under the back of your car to open the tailgate. Face recognition solved the problem. I found the Visage build quality to be solid and easy to assemble. Okay enough about the reason I purchased the Visage. It took me no more than 20minutes to get up and running after opening the box. Side note: If you have an old door like I do the deadbolt holes are smaller than the 2.125" hole required to install the Visage. Hole was enlarged and the installation moved forward. The instructions are very straight forward (which I missed a step see later) and easy to follow. Once set up and tested I set up wifi, face recognition, fingerprint recognition, PIN code as well as Home Key. Each set up was easy and needless to say all worked as I have a habit of testing and retesting when I get a new product. In summary I would highly recommend the Lockly Visage and I confirm if you are looking for state of the art smart lock it is well worth the price. One other side note to clear up what happened in my initial setup. During set up I missed a small but important detail the magnets on the door sensor are supposed to be with 3/4 of an inch. If not the door says it's open when it is actually closed and auto door locking won't work. This is the best part, I emailed customer service on a Sunday evening mind you and got a response within 30 minutes which resolved the situation. I had mounted the magnets further apart than recommended. My mistake but the big take away is that I got a response Sunday evening. That's a first. I will end with this. I recommend the Lockly product and the lock has been working flawlessly.
Review: Very Little Room for Improvement. Excellent Smart Lock. - Whether it’s using your face to unlock the door, remotely locking up, or adding temporary access codes via the app on your phone when something unexpected pops up, these features all work exactly how you would want them to AND they even give you two batteries so there’s never downtime for charging which is an underrated pro move.. With so much done so well, , the couple issues I have aren’t complaints that subtract from my appreciation for this smart lock in any way. If anything, I am respectfully adding my thoughts to the many that clearly went into making such a great product. As far as the product itself goes the sensor that detects whether or not the door is open or closed feels like a vestigial appendage that is hanging on for dear life. It’s a purely aesthetic issue but it’s one that many people will be displeased with as well. Hopefully they can figure out a way to make it a more integrated feature but until then, I removed it and am ok with only knowing if the door is locked or unlocked. My other knock isn’t with the product itself, but with how quickly they advertise buyers will be able to install it. Frankly, Lockly’s claim of a 15 minute installation anyone can do is rather dubious. If you’re a locksmith; contractor or work in the trades it’ll be easier but even for these guys, 15 minutes is a rather hyperbolic expectation to set for the first attempt. I don’t imagine 2-3 hours is uncommon for people who rarely reach for their tool set. Couple things I recommend if you’re not Tim the tool man. 1. Give yourself enough time and block off at least a couple hours on your schedule for this install. It doesn’t require many tools but if you never use them, your mind probably isn’t conditioned for this to come naturally and you could struggle. That being said I do believe even if you never have touched a screwdriver, given the time to work through everything, you could install this yourself. 2. The written instructions are ok but I recommend going a step further. Watch an unpacking video so you’re familiar with what comes with the lock so you know all the different parts and pieces since you won’t use all of them. Next watch the installation guide a few times so you know the process before starting. Also keep it loaded on your phone to refer to while doing the install so you can check your work. 3. Have some extra tools handy when you start. The holes for my strike plate were not catching one of the screws when I installed the new strike plate and it kept me from making it flush and the door could not shut smoothly. I had some toothpicks and glue I jammed in the hole and you could do it with as little as wood shavings. I recommend having something to shave off some material in this location in case you have problems closing the door. TLDR: Excellent product. The best way I can describe it is by using two of the biggest names in the cell phone world… It’s got the latest features ( latest for door locks anyway) like android but ALSO has the bug free, smooth functionality and simplicity of an iPhone. That being said, If you’re not well acquainted with your tools or working with your hands, don’t count on their claim it can be installed in 15 minutes. Give yourself time to install it so you don’t have to leave home with a front door that doesn’t lock.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m debating buying a second one!

I moved into a house that was long time lacking in TLC, and I am by no means a DIY kind of person. The house had a Yale x Nest on it which worked fine for a while and then started eating batteries before becoming unreliable. I put alot of research into what lock I wanted because as you’ll see in the video the door frame and trim need to go up and the door needs a serious washing and painting and I wanted something functional that would look nice once the project is done - but, unfortunately, I couldn’t really wait to replace the lock until then. I went with the black lock because the door will ultimately be painted pink and the door knob was black which meant one less thing to buy in a never ending financial “to pick up” list. I started my search wanting something that could integrate with both iOS and Android operating systems without needing a separate app. For clarity, I do have the Lockly app and I do use that for controlling the lock settings but I can also use it in Apple HomeKit and my guy can use it with whatever homekit’s equivalent is for Android. The one feature of this lock that put it in the forerunner spot prior to purchase was that I can use my watch or my phone to unlock it, too. For me that was something I hadn’t considered but it incredibly functional because I’ve always got my Apple Watch on (but don’t always have my phone). Once the box arrived I was shocked at how heavy it was and upon opening the box it was clear that the lock itself it incredibly well built. It was easy to install and it’s beautiful. I’m happy I went with the black because I think it’ll achieve the look I’m going for once everything is finished. Now, I’m going to start with the con because it’s much shorter. The little flap to protect the screen is cheap as hell. I wish it was a little firmer or felt a little more stable but it’s very flappy. Having said that, it does NOT come on the lock. You place it with a little sticky thing. I wish it was hinged and not sticky because maybe that would help. For the pros: 1. The app is flawless. 2. It will prioritize Bluetooth over WiFi (but you can change this if you want in the settings) to preserve battery and it will automatically default to the least battery draining option. 3. The batteries are USB rechargeable. And, Lockly provides you with two batteries. 4. They give you two manual keys just in case of power outages or something but you can recore the lock. I didn’t, but if I get another one I will as to keep all the house the same key. 5. You can select times for certain functions. For example: if you have a cleaning lady on Mondays and don’t want to give her a code, you have automate it to be unlocked between certain time frames. 6. You can choose to have the lock automatically relock at a set time frame after being unlocked. I have mine set for 30 seconds because if I need it unlocked for longer I just disable the auto lock. Now, a couple things that would make me reorder another one or add another: The usage log tells me who’s entering the house and how they unlocked it. You can add multiple fingerprints for the same user. I added my thumb and forefinger because it’s not uncommon to have my hands full of items and it’s just easier sometimes. Also, if someone had larger hands some angles are tough to read and so having the backup is nice. I can choose who has access, I can rescind access, and I can choose which type of access they have. For example: nobody, other than me, needs my lock to open with facial recognition… except my Dad. My Dad is elderly and this is really easy for him. The scrambling numbers on the key pad frustrate him and his phone is literally just a phone and he’s too distrusting of the government to put his fingerprint in there.. so, unbeknownst to him, I set up facial recognition that way when he approaches the lock will open. The door does chime when it re-locks, but it’s not loud and you quickly become accustomed to it and it doesn’t phase me. That said, if you want, you can turn it off. I love being able to remotely check to ensure the door is locked and I also love being able to use HomeKit for this. I did set up an easy 4 digit code through HomeKit for my Dad as the Lockly app wants at least 6. The HomeKit and Lockly apps really integrate well together. I wasn’t thrilled with the price point of this lock but I’ve been using it for a couple months now and I truly wouldn’t hesitate investing in their products going forward. Oh, and, one last point - my entire block last power last week during a storm. I did have my physical key, but the locked worked great without it due to the ability to run off my Bluetooth. All in all, this is a phenomenal product. I’ve included a few screen shots of the app. A couple of them are edited down just so you can see the visual of which user has which opening capabilities without showing personal data. Hope this helps!
