No trouble with that weird smell you sometimes get with any product using rubber -- these slippers, no bad smell! Comfortable to wear, but the size was off for me. I usually wear a 9, and the ones I got were too small. The sole of the slipper seems pretty solid. They felt like the perfect thickness and were easy to put on. I returned them because they were too small and my heel slips when walking in them. My partner got a pair too, and so far she loves them, so I guess it's all personal preference.
