The threaded parts of that stud are machined down to 3/16". The tapered rubber base is 1" at the bottom, 1/2" at the top and is about 1 3/4" from top to bottom. The pretty metal trim for the tip is 7/8" wide at the narrow end and 1" at the widest point, and 1 1/2" from end to end. The aluminum part is an adapter that is force fit into the rubber portion and is threaded inside to accommodate attachment to the stud. These things work great, but check the tip (rubber portion) now and then to insure it is still reasonably snug on the stud. Have sort of eye balled the drilling in the stick end for the stud. Not to square, but works fine just the same. **Q: Will this install on a bamboo walking stick?** A: maybe if you do what i did and epoxy a brass insert into bamboo **Q: Will this fit in a 1" diameter walking stick?** A: Yes but you will need to taper the stick. I like making my own and like a touch of class added to my regular cain. The medium kit was too large for my cains diameter, but easily trimed it down in length so it fit the smaller diameter. Easy adaption for the thinner cain.
