Prevents fading. *by D***R on 2 December 2025* This detergent did darken a few black cotton pants that had faded. I also noticed that it seemed to renew a grey silk pillow case. I also washed a new black cotton sweater and it preserved the colour. All were washed in the machine on the delicate cycle in tap cold water. I used laundry bags for the pillow case and the sweater. All items were air dried on a clothing rack. The only thing that I wished for is that it would be scent free. It has a light scent but is such a great detergent that I will continue using it anyway. I did buy it for $19 on cyber Monday after paying full price for the first bottle.
