## Description

desertcart.com : Medieval Knight Arming Sword with Scabbard (Chivalry Golden Ring) : Sports & Outdoors

Review: Good stuff - I’m not a sword expert at all but I needed something that would look nice and be a good prop for some content creation. This one fits the bill nicely. It looks quite nice and the blade is not super thick so it isn’t sturdy like a rock but it is not flimsy or flop around either. May be a tad shorter than one may expect but not much and that helps stabilize the blade as well. For the money it’s very cool.
Review: Love it! - I've written several product reviews on desertcart, but this is the first one where I'm stoked enough to opine immediately after receiving a purchase. I was looking for a sword to go with a Knight costume for Halloween that wasn't just a $2 plastic kid's toy. I figure if I'm going to the effort I'm at least going to look like I tried. I didn't want to spend big money, but a steel sword with a scabbard that didn't look like it came from Wally World should be doable. Well it is doable, and this sword is it. I don't know much sword terminology, so don't have a heart attack when I say the "grip" seems well made, and the sideways "bars" between the grip and the edged blade are solidly attached. All the steel is brushed and blemish-free. The ring at the end of the grip is thick metal and still a perfect circle after shipping. The blade is covered in a thin film of oil and is straight as an arrow. The scabbard is leather or fake leather and looks great with the Knight costume. I had a leather belt and sword frog from last year's pirate costume (both bought on desertcart), and this sword matches both perfectly. If you're looking for a costume sword that's a serious level up from plastic junk and still not expensive, look no further. This is one of my best scores for Halloween costume swag yet. Edited to add: Looks like the desertcart review screeners liked what I had to say. When I wrote the review yesterday the sword was still $41 (what I paid for it) on desertcart Prime. This morning it's $61 on desertcart Prime. Sorry about about that, folks! LOL (the sword is still worth it if you're serious about your Halloween getup)

## Features

- Medieval Sword AUTHENTIC MEDIEVAL DESIGN: This 36-inch medieval knight arming sword is inspired by the Oakeshott typology of European swords, featuring a historically accurate crossguard and ornate ball-style pommel with silver fittings — a faithful tribute to the arming swords carried by knights from the 12th through 15th centuries.
- 440 STAINLESS STEEL BLADE WITH CENTRAL RIDGE – 27.5" mirror-polished blade features a full-length central fuller for an authentic knight-sword profile. Crafted from 440 stainless steel for rust resistance and lasting shine. At approx. 2.4 lbs with solid metal guard and pommel, it has the heft and presence of a real arming sword – not a lightweight plastic prop or flimsy wall-hanger.
- WOOD-CORE SCABBARD INCLUDED: Every sword ships with a matching scabbard built on a rigid wood core, wrapped in faux leather, and fitted with a stainless steel throat featuring a precision V-cut for a snug, rattle-free fit — ready for wall display, belt carry at Renaissance fairs, or cosplay staging.
- Perfect For IDEAL FOR COSPLAY, DISPLAY & GIFTS – Complete your knight, crusader, Witcher, or medieval costume. Looks great mounted on the wall, in the office, man cave, or game room. Popular gift for history buffs, D&D players, groomsmen, graduates, and collectors. No assembly or sharpening required.
- COMFORTABLE AMBIDEXTROUS GRIP: The 8-inch ribbed handle is wrapped in faux leather for a secure, comfortable hold that works equally well for left- and right-handed wielders — ideal for extended cosplay sessions, photography, or ceremonial display presentation.
- Trusted Brand FROM ACE MARTIAL ARTS SUPPLY – Over 20 years supplying martial arts schools and collectors. Ships in protective packaging. Note: This is a decorative display piece. Not intended for cutting, combat, or contact. Wipe with oil cloth to maintain finish.

| Handle Material | The external source specifies that the 'handle is made in a ribbed design for a great grip and a black imitation leather wrap for comfort.' It also states that the 'Handle length is 10\',' and the 'material' of the sword is 'Stainless Steel.' However, it does not explicitly confirm if the handle is made of stainless steel or if only the blade is made of that material. Given that it is uncommon for sword handles to be made of the same material as the blade, and that stainless steel is not listed in the 'example_valid_values' for handle materials, we can infer that the handle material is likely not stainless steel. Additionally, none of the other materials listed in the 'example_valid_values' are explicitly mentioned in the product details or the external source. Therefore, we cannot definitively determine the handle material based on the given information. However, we can assume that it is not stainless steel, and it is not one of the other explicitly mentioned materials. Thus, we can conclude that the handle material is likely 'Other' or a material not explicitly listed in the 'example_valid_values'. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: is this sword flimsy or can be used as a real sword?**
A: Not flimsy but not sure if it it could be used as a real sword either. Best bet to probably not for safety

**Q: Is it two handed?**
A: Actually, it depends on the one you get. The one pictured is actually a longsword, and requires two hands. Looking at the pictures, however, there are ones that are one handed. Long story short, if the handle looks shorter, or if it looks closer than others, it's likely a one handed arming sword. If the handle looks longer, or the picture is further out, it's most likely a longsword.

**Q: Is this product a crossbow as in the description it describes a crossbow**
A: It's a sword, but I reread the description and that's quite odd. They need to fix that.

**Q: how long is the bade on this sword exactly?**
A: i own this sword and just measured the blade at 26 inches. i would also like to let you know that this sword is worth its price. i have been very happy with it in my collection.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, Cheap Sword For the Price
*by K***Y on April 22, 2017*

I thought this was a pretty good sword for the price, but there are just a couple of things that might turn away a buyer. Pros: - It is carbon steel indeed. Because of this, the blade can be used as a semi-functional weapon, but I'll get into that later. - It disassembles like a dream. If you want to practice sword care, this is the sword to buy. It shows you how all of the different parts fit together the same way you will find in higher quality weapons. - It is very nice to look at. Great decoration or dress sword - Isn't too cumbersome to wield and swing around. The fittings are super tight and can always be adjusted by tightening the pommel nut. Cons: - The sword does have a full tang, I'll give it that; however, not only is it a rat tail tang, but the blade is still welded to the rat tail pretty sloppily. Any heavy use of the sword may cause it to snap, but so far it is surprisingly sturdy. - It is not sharp at all. I did not find this much of a problem because I can put a descent edge on anything, but for any new buyers who cannot, I would not expect to use this as a functional weapon. - The handle leather and the scabbard leather are completely different. It is more of an aesthetic thing, but it is worth mentioning. - It has no distal taper, but the sword is so small, it is almost not noticeable. As a final evaluation, it is a perfect beginner sword. Disassembles easily and accurately, doesn't come with and edge, and feels like a sword. If you have a new interest in HEMA or WMA or your relative does, this would be absolutely perfect. It does, however, under perform compared to its cheap oriental weapon counterparts on Amazon.
