Because they were so flexible. Also Using Tunefuls brand pure silver/Rhodium z-connex soldered hollow banana plugs. Long runs are no problem with my 1969 Japanese Coral speakers. Kabuki's were designed for low power amps and stringed instrument music from the native Japanese culture. Also Western Jazz and Classical music were considered. The lower value American exports from Pioneer, Sansui, and even cheaper Technics, Sony, Panasonic speakers, just were not the same quality as these. The extra lengthy wires help me maneuver the speakers while I repair and upgrade them.
