However, I was able to straighten them with a pair of needle-nose pliers in just a couple minutes, and they seem to be fine. Except the pins on one were bent completely sideways, and after bending them straight, they became brittle and fell right off. The connections are solid though as long as they aren't bent. They're not really breadboard friendly, but you probably shouldn't be using them on a breadboard anyway. I've added an image showing the damaged vs non damaged. To be honest, there is only really 3 ways for them to fix the bent pins:1. Put them in tubes (IE like Mouser or Digikey)2. Place each one on a thin foam mat3. Stack them and place a small piece of foam on the bottom oneWith that said, I would have preferred #1, but with the price, I'm not surprised to have any of these options. And that's what most of this review comes down to, cost. At ~$5.5 for 17 pc's you can't expect much. I would have normally purchased from either of the two distributers I listed earlier, but I needed something quick and cheap (shipping cost from those two distributors doesn't make it cost effective for one off orders like this).Now onto the physical attributes. The pins are pretty weak, but so far I haven't had any issues bending the pins back. I haven't had any break offs or the sort. The MCU's I'm seating in these (Atmega 328) fit perfectly. Nice and snug, but not too tight where you feel like your going to rip it all apart trying to get it out. I've even hacked one apart using my dremel to make a cable for some dip pins.Summary: Definitely a good value. Do I wish the packaging was better, sure. Would it stop me from buying again, no.
