I would say almost. the tolerances are good enough that the final product fits together well, but some of the fittings are tight or loose. There are some connections that will pop off if bumped, but no more than would happen with a Lego set with the same connection. The bad? My set was missing 2 pieces and it took more than a month to get the replacement parts. It's not as easy as with Lego just telling them you had missing pieces. There's no inventory at the end of the book or part numbers to reference. You have to take a picture of the instructions, circle the piece you're missing and let them know how many you are missing. Worst of all you have to provide an order number, I guess to prove you bought the set and aren't just looking for some free parts. I can see getting this set as a gift and having a really hard time if the set was missing pieces. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars for the hassle of getting replacement parts, but for the value it's well worth it. I did order the bigger 40103 JMBricklayer Pirate Ship Building Sets and had 2 broken pieces and 2 very warped pieces that made the ship not go together, warped because of the tight packaging.
