Review: The best soil conditioner - Excellent soil conditioner, RHS approved. Doesn’t smell and has a reliable fine texture with no nasty bits. I use this as a November mulch on my flower beds to retain moisture and suppress weeds. I also use it as part of a potting mix for new plants: Melcourt Sylvagrow compost, a handful of this Farmyard, a sprinkling of plant food and added Perlite for drainage. Melcourt products are superior to the usual garden centre / DIY shops multipurpose compost and I wouldn’t use anything else now. I’ve used Melcourt compost and this Farmyard to improve heavy clay soil which has greatly improved the texture of the soil. I now have a fabulous cottage garden and workable soil.

Excellent soil conditioner, RHS approved. Doesn’t smell and has a reliable fine texture with no nasty bits. I use this as a November mulch on my flower beds to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
