It will only be providing 3 amps.....will it overheat at that load in a sealed chamber?** A: It is too large and not designed to be installed inside a fixture. For that and for only 3A there are small power supplies that will never get hot and are also much cheaper than this one. **Q: Can one or more be paralleled to increase output current?** A: If you diode isolate the outputs and match voltages with a multimeter, you can parallel. Keep in mind there will a voltage drop across the diodes and they need to handle the full load amperage. **Q: Does fan always run, or only under heavy loads?** A: The fan doesn’t run when plugged in and I presume only comes on when the internal temperature reaches a preset value. **Q: Does this power supply need a minimum load?** A: I have a 500ohm resistor on it so it will always have a load on it just to be safe. The answer wasn't what I hoped for. This was part of the reply; The DROK 48V Power Supply you're looking at outputs 0-48V at up to 10A, but most cordless drills operate at much lower voltages (12V, 18V, or 20V). While this power supply could theoretically power a drill, the direct connection would be challenging since cordless tools are designed to work with specific battery packs and connectors. The answer wasn't entirely correct. I found that the DROK 48V Power Supply will power most all my workshop desk tools; drills, sanders jigsaws, etc. This provides me with ability to use all my old outdated tools without buying batteries. I simply soldered electric cords to the devices.
