## Description

This sturdy metal T-Adapter is the accessory of choice if you’d like to attach an SLR or DSLR camera to the rear cell threads of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for prime focus photography. To get started, you’ll need the appropriate T-Ring for your camera body (#93402 for Nikon & #93419 for Canon EOS). Remove the lens from your camera and attach the T-ring in its place. Since the T-ring is camera-brand specific, it will snap right on just like a lens. Next, remove the diagonal and visual back from the rear cell of your telescope. Screw the Celestron T-Adapter onto the rear cell threads until secure. Now, thread the T-ring & camera onto the T-Adapter. That’s all there is to it. The camera is now using your telescope as a giant telephoto lens. The magnification will depend on the telescope’s focal length. For instance, a 300mm camera lens is considered to be pretty powerful, right? Well, if you are using an 8” SCT at prime focus, you’ve got yourself a 2000mm lens with a lot of light-gathering capability! Prime focus photography is popular for short exposure images of terrestrial objects as well as celestial objects like the Moon. If you want to do longer exposures of deep sky objects with this method, we suggest using a separate guidescope or off-axis guider and an equatorial mount.

**Q: I want to understand one thing, what is the magnification that I will get from this T adaptor with my Canon 650D?**
A: When talking about photography the proper term is not magnification, but scale factor.  Scale factor is a linear function of focal length alone, which is  a property of the optics you connect this to. Sometimes "magnification" is rated in terms of the ratio of the focal length of telescope to a 50 mm lens.  If your telescope has a focal length of 900 mm and an f-ratio of 10, (90 mm, f/10) then your "magnification" is 900/50 = 18 times! 

What you can see will depend on the pixel pitch of your camera, the "seeing" (atmospheric conditions) on the night you go out, and critically, on how well you can focus.  Start out with the moon, and practice focusing!

**Q: Will this fit on a Celestron StarSense dx130?**
A: No, it’s made to fit a SCT telescope.

**Q: Will this kit work with a celestron nexstar slt 130 (newtonian) and a nikon d7100?**
A: No.  This adapter is specifically for SCT models.  You need Celestron Item #: 93625, the 'universal' adapter, which fits the eyepiece holder.  You'll also need the T-ring for Nikon.

**Q: Will This work on my Celestron C6? Will it allow me to move the camera to take vertical shots and lock it in?**
A: yes it should, its universal to celestron telescopes..Im looking at mine now, and it seems to be universal, did you get your t-ring...the t-ring will allow the camera to be attached. I know I forgot the t-ring when I got my adaptor..My telescope is the C8, so it should work.. let me know, but get the t-ring, it goes by camera model.. Like mine is a Cannon, so I had to get a Cannon t-ring that attaches to the adapter...it also only works if your able to remove your leses from your camera, there is another mount that you can use if your using a point and shoot camera.. most sincerely,Lizzy
