## Description

The Skar Audio SDR-15 D2 15" dual 2 ohm subwoofer was engineered to dish out reliable, hard hitting, and low spectrum sound. Featuring a high flux ferrite motor, this woofer will provide extreme power handling for extended periods of time. The SDR series will quickly become a customer favorite, as it's perfect for people just entering the world of car audio all the way up to seasoned pros. The SDR series features a 2. 5” high temperature 4-layer high temperature copper voice coil that is attached to our Skar Audio signature red spider. The surround on the SDR series is a high roll foam surround which allows the woofer to produce riveting low end bass response. The SDR series has a max power rating of 1200 watts and a RMS power rating of 600 watts. Sensitivity: 85.9 dB, Frequency Response: 20 - 250 Hz, Qts: 0.67, Xmax: 13. 5 mm, Fs: 29 Hz, Bl: 16.36 n/a. Sure there are plenty of offerings from the major brands such as Alpine, Pioneer, Kicker etc but they all cost considerably more. And yes, there are a few gems out there in the budget brands we all love to knock, but I didn't feel like dealing with the trial and error of finding something decent. Scar has built a good reputation for quality speakers for any budget, and their amps are top notch, so I opted for this one. While I was waiting on it to arrive, I built the enclosure to spec according to Skar's website at just under 2 cubic feet using 3/4" MDF. The sub is being fed by a nice older Memphis-16MXA1.500, with the dual 2 ohm coils wired in parallel at 1ohm. There's not much to say other than it sounds good. Not just good for the money, I mean the quality is great. The output volume when matched with the mono block more than meet my expectations. I would buy this again without question, if I needed another one. I highly doubt it happens though, as I already get that "Damn kids these days" look from my neighbors when pulling out, and I'm in my 30s.

**Q: I have a boss riot that only puts out 280w rms, will that even make this sub sound decent? or will i have to upgrade??**
A: People can say what they want to about a lower end wattage amp but I bought a jenson 600 watt peak and it’s rated 280 watts at 4 ohms bridged  and it absolutely hits in my car, this sub is great and don’t worry too much about wattage because it will hit if you have high or low wattage!

**Q: What would hit harder this or 2 of the skar ix-12 d4?**
A: Just one of these? Depending on what amp you are running and how it is tuned. You can make 1 15 sound like 3 12s if they are in the right car and tuned properly.

**Q: Will this fit in a single cab truck sub box?**
A: I wouldn't think so. They need about 5" of clearance & 1.5 cubic feet to really slap. If it measures out, then it might be worth a try though.

**Q: Will a 3500 watt amp be okay for one of these**
A: Probably not the best idea if you’re talking 3500 to one channel. The RMS is much lower then the max of 1200 and that’s the number you want to go with. That number is 600 watts something in that range would be better for it.

I had 2 10" Skar IX series in the trunk area of my Odyssey and they just weren't cutting through when the windows were down. But I had had them for a few years and they were reliable and sounded great, so when I saw the the level up (SDR) 15" for $120 I jumped on it. No problem hearing the bass now. Unbelievable the difference between the 2 setups with the same wattage, same amp. Low budget Blaupunkt amp (200W rms-ish) is driving this thing with ease. I listen to a lot of metal that can be really hard on subs with the distortion, but this thing laughs at that. Digs deep for modern hip hop too. Never owned a 15 before and regret not switching earlier. 3 Cuft sealed box. Boom.
