I’ve been making tons of breads, pizza doughs and specialty breads and this machine is simply fabulous for bread. It doesn’t budge at any speed. My Kitchenaid walked all over until it even fell off the counter.This Cuisinart has 50% more speed and power. **Q: Steel or plastic gears** A: I opened it up-- I can confirmed that 1 of the worm gear is made of plastic / nylon material.. It's not made out of Hard Cold steel. This machine was not designed to last. The grease in gear box is mediocre!
