Product description Wilesco D 10 steam engine with mirror polished and nickel plated boiler, diameter 1.75 in, length 4.5 in, boiler capacity 9.4 in, with water gauge glass. Boiler house true to life, colored and copper plated, with embossed brick type walls, 2 footbridges. Double-action reversible brass cylinder with flywheel, spring loaded safety valve, dome whistle, flywheel of 3.0 in diameter with grooved pulley, centrifugal governor, steam jet oiler. All condensed water is collected in a gathering tray below the smoke stack and the chimney smokes just like the original. Finely painted metal base plate 7.75 in x 10.0 in. Height, including smoke stack, 9.0 in, Weight: 2.4 lbs. Directions Instructions for assembly and operation are provided.

Definitely justifies the higher initial cost Mine runs beautifully on half a Gelert hexamine tablet- a half piece is about 30*15*12 mm. As with other engines, half-filling the boiler and using boiling water and a suitable squeezy bottle or syringe speeds up starting. The clear boiler end is appreciated, the installation really looks nicely industrial, and actually might power a small Meccano static model. A happy Engineer!

We use this in school to teach energy changes and explain how a conventional fossil fuel power station works, The kids love it and so do the teachers. It was bought to replace the same model that is probably 20 + years old. I would certainly recommend it.

This is so much better than the tipping cylinder Mamod types it's unbelievable. Definitely justifies the higher initial cost Mine runs beautifully on half a Gelert hexamine tablet- a half piece is about 30*15*12 mm. As with other engines, half-filling the boiler and using boiling water and a suitable squeezy bottle or syringe speeds up starting. The clear boiler end is appreciated, the installation really looks nicely industrial, and actually might power a small Meccano static model. A happy Engineer!
