My child's school does not allow them to wear anything on top of their games kit, and they have to walk with a t-shirt and shorts in the middle of winter to a pitch, play and come back, which usually takes 2 hours. He used to hate it as he was getting too cold by the time they started warming up, but he says that with these thermals, he is very comfortable. I washed them in cold water and they did not shrink noticeably. They are good size and very soft. We are very happy with our purchase.

I normally hover between Med & Lge. I don't like tight tops so I ordered XL Thermals. The bottoms are a good fit but even in XL I find the top very tight and restricting. They are nice and warm so I am going to persevere with the tighter top.
