The glue will wear away after a few days but is sufficient to protect the wound during that early healing process....... chapped or cracked skin on your feet needs more long term treatment such as regularly using a specialist cream to gradually improve the condition. **Q: Would this allowed on a plane, in my med kit? Either in held or checked luggage? Doesn’t mention being flammable on its cautionary section. Cheers** A: Hi, this product contains cyanocrystalate which is the main component of fast drying super glue. On the web it says that it is used in these type of fast drying “second skin” liquid bandages medically safely for anal cuts but that it is highly flammable. I am not at all sure what the rules are for airports or airlines regarding taking highly flammable liquids on flights because each airline and airport seem to have varying & sometimes contradictory rules. I personally wouldn’t risk it because I have had items allowed at one airport on the way out and confiscated on the way back! If in doubt, especially when you know something could be potentially not allowed, I would call the airport and the airline and ask, taking the names of those you speak to. It might seem overkill but with the paranoia and extra security at airports recently, my advice is don’t take the risk. I recently went through security and got on my plane with no problems, only for the flight to get cancelled because of a major delay caused by one passenger who was sick. The airline made us take all our luggage, including those bags that we checked in and provided a hotel for the night. The next day, we went through the very same airports security with the same exact luggage and about 30 of the passengers on the flight, including me and my 14 year old son, were stopped and had items confiscated from our hand luggage that were not noticed the first time round the day before! I had a sealed bottle of contact lens solution that was just over the allowed limit (wife’s fault! ;)) and my son put a small bottle of water from the day before in his bag from the airport, not knowing it wasn’t allowed. I’m not complaining, I’m glad they were observant and noticed everything the 2nd time round, even if the items were totally safe, they have strict rules for a reason, but what one day was missed, may not be missed on another! Sorry for the long reply but in short, IT IS flammable and I wouldn’t take the risk of getting caught with it because someone else managed to get it on a different flight before. I’ve seen people take lighters onboard before, they are also flammable, so who knows what the rules are! Best to check for your own sake and to avoid delays on your flight. Really helps with split skin ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ May not be best for cracked fingers... *by F***L on 27 November 2023* I get cracked thumbs which partially heal and then reopen in any cold weather. I thought Liquid Skin would help with these, and although it does, there are some pros and cons. Pros: Once it's on, it's on and it doesn't come off easily. It stayed on the tips of my thumbs well for maybe 48 hours but did start to crack and disintegrate after that point. If I had covered my thumbs with protectors, it would have lasted longer. However, once applied sucessfully it allows the cut to heal underneath and 48 hours is enough for my cracked thumbs to heal. When it's applied and has sealed the crack, the crack no longer hurts, which is a blessing. Cons: Depending upon where you apply it, one thin layer of the solution may not be enough. On the thumbs, it just cracks open within a couple of hours and is rendered pointless. So, you need to spend ages layering the stuff up to create a thick enough layer for it to stay uncracked. This would be ok but a thick layer can take 45 minutes to dry, which isnt always practical. Lastly, I have discovered the solution dries the skin on my thumbs, leading to the skin peeling after the crack has healed. Given that cracked thumbs are caused by dry skin, I think in the long run the liquid skin may be a self defeating product for my purposes.
